We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Doug White (MBChB (Hons), FRACP, MBA) as an Honorary Associate Professor in Te Wānanga Waiora | Division of Health at the The University of Waikato.
Dr White is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Waikato Hospital with more than 20 years’ experience spanning clinical care, research and education. He has an extensive international research profile, with over 60 peer-reviewed publications and leadership as principal investigator on more than 50 clinical trials across inflammatory and autoimmune rheumatic diseases.
Dr White has made sustained contributions to medical education, coordinating musculoskeletal teaching at Waikato Hospital for over a decade and supervising postgraduate students and advanced trainees. He is widely recognised for excellence in clinical teaching and service innovation, including national awards for health system improvement and education.
Dr White’s expertise in rheumatology, health economics and service delivery will significantly strengthen the Division’s teaching and research capability. We look forward to welcoming him on board – nau mai haere mai Dr White!
